Dive into your Break Forth One experience with a day-long, pre-conference workshop to amplify your leadership. Here’s one that will help you develop the ins-and-outs of making a bigger impact:
The High Impact Leader
Join Carey Nieuwhof, founding and teaching pastor of Connexus Church north of Toronto, for this very practical workshop, as he unpacks how to develop the time, energy, priorities, and opportunities to make a greater impact as a leader. Personalize a plan to get productive and accomplish the things you know are most important, but rarely have time for.
Saturday, January 27, 2018
Class A: Renewing the Leader’s Heart
After the Main Assembly, Carey Nieuwhof will be hosting a session that explores what to do when your faith, character and hope is tested. You will come away with a better understanding of how to keep your head and heart engaged when faced with significant disappointments in life and leadership.
Class B: Redemptive Suffering: From the ‘gospel of suck’ to the Joy of the Gospel
After lunch, join Father Sean Kilcawley, the director of religious education for the Diocese of Lincoln, NE, as he explores valuable questions like: How do we talk about suffering in the church? Is all suffering redemptive? Why does God allow us to suffer? What does it really mean to suffer as Christ suffered?
Class C: Real Questions. Real Answers
If you’re a church leader, you’re going to have to dialogue with tough questions. Apologist, Nathan Betts, will walk you through Christian responses to three of the most common objections raised against the Christian faith, and open up the floor to questions.
Sunday January 28, 2018
Class D: Transformational Leadership
Start your day with Scott Fehrenbacher, senior vice-president of Trinity Western University, exploring your own leadership style and learning how to develop high-performing teams. You can identify and uncover the hidden powers that others have and consistently develop emerging talent to get effective servants in ministry, the corporate world and the community.
Class E: The Canadian Church Circa 2030
Hear from a panel of leaders including Mark Clark, Shaila Visser, Mark Burch and Tim Day, as they share their wealth of knowledge and insight on the future of the Canadian Church.. They will discuss how we can interact with and impact the ever-changing Canadian cultural landscape for decades to come.
Main Assembly: Closing Ceremony
Cap off the weekend in worship with other Break Forth One attendees! Mark Clark will share his learnings from planting and growing a church, writing books and more! You can implement the new skills and ideas you learned at Break Forth One into your own church, transforming the lives and hearts of your congregation and ministries.
