FAQ2018-09-28T10:01:02+00:00
Is the event done lecture style?2018-09-28T10:20:37+00:00

There is some lecture along with media, dramatic video clips and projects.

Do we have to talk about our relationship in front of others?2018-09-28T10:20:09+00:00

Absolutely not! Speakers will share from their life experiences about specific topics. They will have you work on projects that just you as a couple will discuss together.

What do you mean by projects?2018-09-28T10:19:16+00:00

These are questions that you and your spouse will work on and then discuss. Some are done as part of a session and some are done after the session has ended.

Who comes to the conference? Is it just for newlyweds or young couples or is there something for mature couples too?2018-09-28T10:17:25+00:00

This event is for all married couples. No matter what age or how many years you have been married this day will help take your marriage to the next level.

What is provided?2018-09-28T10:16:12+00:00

Manuals will be provided for you and your spouse. You only need to bring a pen or pencil for completing projects or recording notes.

There’s no hope for our marriage, so why should I waste my time by going to it?2018-09-28T10:15:37+00:00

A Day Together can restore your vision of what it looks like to pursue a marriage that works. You’ll make meaningful progress toward resolving past hurts, and discover a new appreciation for your spouse.

But our problems are not like anyone else’s. Why should I go?2018-09-28T10:14:45+00:00

Many couples are encouraged to learn at the conference that their struggles are not as unique as they think. Again, let’s talk with someone who knows: “I didn’t realize that other people were having the same kinds of problems… it seemed like the speakers had been in my house and knew what was going on.”

How should I dress for the conference?2018-09-28T10:13:56+00:00

Dress for a fun, relaxed day. Wear something comfortable (jeans are fine). We suggest that you bring a jacket or sweater into the sessions since temperatures vary.

Why do you need five business days to process an Automatic Bank Withdrawal?2017-10-17T15:31:21+00:00

We send Automatic Bank Withdrawals to our bank to be processed five business days prior to the withdrawal date. We have found this to be the optimal amount of time to ensure successful processing of these donations. Our hard-copy Financial Partnership Form asks for at least two weeks to process Automatic Bank Withdrawals received by mail. This is to allow adequate time for the form to be delivered to us by Canada Post, and also for us to enter this information in the system before we send the donations to the bank for processing.

What is Power to Change?2017-05-01T14:36:15+00:00

Power to Change is an evangelical Christian non-profit organization that is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” We began on college campuses in 1967 as Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada and now have multiple unique ministries making Jesus known across Canada and around the world.

In addition, we develop tools, strategies, and training that make it easier for Christians to grow and share their faith. This is our mission: to help people know Jesus and experience His power to change the world.

What does Power to Change believe?2017-05-01T14:36:53+00:00
What denomination does Power to Change belong to?2017-05-01T14:37:09+00:00

Power to Change is an interdenominational organization that partners with churches from many denominations. We hold to the basic beliefs of the Christian faith that have been consistent over the centuries throughout many denominations.

Why did you change your name from Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada to Power to Change?2017-05-01T14:37:32+00:00

While we began on campuses in 1967 as Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada, the scope of our ministry has expanded dramatically beyond the campus. In addition, the word “crusade” has many negative connotations, particularly for our missionaries working internationally in Muslim communities.

The name “Power to Change” comes from a media and church-driven campaign that we took across Canada in the late 90’s. We believe that Jesus Christ is the power to change lives, cities, countries, and the world: the name “Power to Change” reflects our mission and vision to help people know Jesus and experience his power to change the world.

What are the ministries of Power to Change?2018-06-27T15:18:08+00:00

Power to Change currently has 10 ministries that make Jesus known in unique ways among different groups of people.

  • Athltes in Action: Reaching people with the message of Jesus through sport.

In addition, we have our humanitarian partner:

What happened to previous ministries that are no longer a part of Power to Change?2017-05-01T14:39:09+00:00

While the gospel doesn’t change, the way we communicate it and serve the needs of the people around us does change. The ministries under the Power to Change banner have changed as well: some have merged with other ministries, some have changed names, and others are no longer active.

Previous ministries under the Power to Change umbrella include Here’s Life, Mothers Who Care, Breakthrough Prayer, Women Today, and Oasis Retreats.

Mothers Who Care merged with Breakthrough Prayer, which then became part of Connecting Streams. Prayer resources can be found on the Connecting Streams website.

Over time, the various women’s ministries, such as Women Today, changed their focus and strategy and became the Women’s Heart-Engaging Networking (WHEN) in 2014.

Some ministries, such as Oasis Retreats, continue their important work outside of Power to Change.
