O my Gardener, my Father

Tend to me through the change of season
How else will this green plant flourish
through floods, fires, and frosts?

I trust your wisdom: prune as needed
Take away, that I may be more fruitful for you and my family
(for I know you set the lonely in families)

I trust your goodness: give me growth
Provide, that I may be generous towards you and my neighbours
(for I know you also tend to those who trouble me)

I trust your power: plant me firmly
Settle, that I may remain true to you and to my friends
(for I know you give, as well as take away)

You know the seasons that were
the season that is
and the seasons yet to be

Through lengthening and shortening of days
Through wax and wane of moon
Clothe me in today's generosity
(finer than Solomon’s dress)
That I may serve you humbly and courageously
Knowing always your great compassion

Amen
