Most people are able to watch The Avengers: Infinity War without thinking it’s completely ridiculous that the story is about a purple body builder that wants to wipe out half the universe with a glove. That’s because over the years, Marvel has slowly built up a universe in which that all makes complete sense. In the real world, it’s not so different.
