Going on a mission trip was life-changing for me. When I was there I was just saturated in God, knowing him and worshipping him. The gospel has changed me. It’s a privilege to be a part of what God is doing.

Mark

At a glance:

  • Participating with God in mission
  • Encountering God through spiritual rhythms
  • Developing a heart for cross-cultural engagement
  • Engaging in online ministry opportunities

Even though our world has changed in the last year, God’s heart for people has stayed the same. God is at work globally, in our cities, and even in our digital neighbourhoods. We want to take this opportunity to join God in what he is already doing. During times of restriction, there are still abundant opportunities for us to show and share the love of Christ.

As a missional community, we will discover, learn and participate with God in a variety of online ministry opportunities. We hope that this mission trip will not only help us learn new things about online missional engagement, but help us grow holistically. Together, we will engage in learning environments and relational spaces that lead to fresh encounters with God, personal growth, and a fuller understanding of what it means to be a missional Christian.

Each participant will have the opportunity to choose a ministry focus area in their application. These are the current areas of focus.

House of Worship:

Join House of Worship, the music and arts division of P2C-Students, as we encourage students to take heart through music and the arts online. The trip focus area will consist of learning how to share the gospel with music and the arts, followed by exciting opportunities to bring songs of hope to students through a variety of online platforms. At the time of the application, you will be asked to fill out a Google form with questions about your musical background, experience, and recording equipment you have access to.

Desert Rain:

We will partner with the local team in Desert Rain to engage with students online. We will learn about the culture, the people of Desert Rain, and how to contextualize the gospel. Through this, we desire to grow in our understanding of how God is at work in this region.

East Asia:

We will be working alongside our East Asia team to meet students online. We will learn about the culture in East Asia, make cross-cultural friends, culturally contextualize the gospel, and grow in our understanding of how God is at work in East Asia.

Other opportunities:

We are exploring a few other ministry focus areas: one in partnership with OMF, focusing on Southeast Asia, and another, with Boundless Vancouver. More details to follow. If you are interested in one of these ministry opportunities, go ahead and apply for the digital mission trip. You can select this to be your focus area later.

This will be a commitment of 15-20 hours each week. Mission trip activities will take place during the 9am – 7pm window of time in your time zone, Monday to Friday, with the following components:

  1. All together:
    • Pray for the world
    • Grow in spiritual practice and rhythms
    • Workshops on contextualizing the gospel
    • Bible study
    • Personal discipleship
  1. Ministry focus area:
    • Brainstorm and ideate
    • Implement digital ministry strategies
    • Build cross-cultural relationships

** Note: Hours spent in digital ministry may change week to week as we work across different time zones.
