Engaging in life-changing conversations on campus

“Why do you think Christians believe Jesus is God and why do you think he had to die?” said Selina.
Selina and Ivana were talking with Maria about her perspective on life and God. Maria came from a Muslim background, but wasn’t practicing any faith. A bit baffled by this questioned, she leaned into the conversation to learn more.

After hearing about Jesus’ death and resurrection Maria responded, “Oh, I didn’t know that Jesus rose from the dead. That changes things. I need to research this more.”

Students are open to spiritual topics, but we need creative ways to build safe spaces where they can be discussed. Tools like Perspective Cards and Soularium help spark these meaningful conversations. They ask questions about worldview and open doors for further discussion.

Each student we meet has their own background and unique experiences, but these tools allow us to listen, understand, and then share the gospel in relevant ways.

Maria proceeded to tell Selina and Ivana that at one point in her life she was seriously considering Christianity. Maria thanked them for talking with her. She had felt so alone as she wrestled with her questions, not personally knowing any Christians who could teach her more about Jesus!

Maria’s story is just one example of how students are engaging with the life-changing message of Jesus. These kinds of conversations are happening daily on campuses across Canada. Pray with us for these students as they journey towards Jesus.
