Eight years ago, I walked into the Apologetics Canada Conference and saw my two favourite things: God and food! I had no idea that moment would eventually lead me to a ministry where those two passions could come together to help people encounter Jesus.
Over the years, I started volunteering with Gary, the creator of Theo’s Feast, and what began as a couple events a year became something I was deeply involved in. Recently, Gary challenged me to join staff as a Sous Chef. I was nervous about fundraising and immediately said no, but after years of encouragement from friends and family, especially Gary and my sister, I began to sense God inviting me to take a step of faith. I’ve always wanted my life to help people know Jesus, and I’m so grateful He’s given me gifts and passions that can be used to share the gospel. Theo’s Feast brings together food, creativity, and meaningful connection to create opportunities to share the gospel and introduce people to Jesus. People come for the food, but then get to encounter the gospel.
These events are part of an even bigger vision: equipping Christians to use the opportunities already sitting around their own tables. We want to help people see everyday meals and conversations as opportunities to share Jesus, and give them the confidence and tools to do it themselves. Our hope is that what happens around our tables spreads into homes, friendships, and communities, creating more opportunities for people to know Jesus and experience His power.
I’m incredibly grateful that God has invited me into this work and given me a way to use the things I love and the gifts He’s given me to help more people encounter Jesus. Thank you for choosing to partner with me in this calling. Your prayers, encouragement, and financial support mean so much to me and help make this ministry possible.
All my love,
Amisa Joy
