Hello! My name is Iwona, and I’ve been serving with Campus Crusade for Christ in Poland since 2012. I first heard the Gospel and came to know Jesus through the ministry of Athletes in Action. I met and interacted with them while attending a basketball high school in Warsaw and playing for the Polish National Team. At that time, however, my heart was hardened by a difficult childhood and a lack of love, and I wasn’t ready to follow Jesus. After high school, I went to the United States to study and play basketball — spending three years at Weatherford College in Texas and two years at the University of Hawaii, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. I then returned to Poland to pursue my dream of playing professional basketball. Yet, the post-graduation season of my life turned out very differently from what I had imagined. Even though many of my dreams had come true, I felt empty inside. I began asking deeper questions and searching for purpose. Eventually, I surrendered my life to God, confessing Jesus as my Lord and Savior. With a desire to grow in faith, I moved to Warsaw, where I became involved with Athletes in Action, my local church, and graduate studies, all while continuing to play for a local basketball team. As I grew spiritually, God called me into full-time ministry.Since then, I have been serving with Campus Crusade for Christ to win, build, and send people in the name of Jesus. I’m now excited to share that, in June 2026, I plan to join Athletes in Action New Zealand in city called Christchurch to continue serving athletes and sharing the hope of Christ through sports ministry. If you have any questions or would like to hear more about what God is doing in Poland, please feel free to email me at izagrobelna@mt28.pl. Blessings!
