Position Overview
The National Widow to Widow Ministry Leader will develop, support, and resource a leadership team who together with them will equip and mobilize believers to reach out intentionally to those who have lost their spouse/partner. Your role would include being on the Connecting Streams Executive Team.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible to achieve the following objectives:
Strategic Leadership and Ministry Growth
Provide spiritual and strategic leadership for the Widow-to-Widow Ministry by developing and communicating a compelling ministry vision aligned with the mission and priorities of Connecting Streams.
Develop, implement, and evaluate the ministry's strategic plan in collaboration with the Widow-to-Widow Ministry Leadership Team and the National Ministry Development Team.
Lead the development of ministry models, resources, and tools that strengthen ministry effectiveness and can be replicated in communities across Canada.
Identify and pursue opportunities to establish and expand Widow to Widow ministries in new cities and regions.
Contribute to the Connecting Streams Leadership Team by collaborating on ministry initiatives, sharing insights, and supporting organization-wide ministry objectives.
Leadership Development
Recruit, develop, and lead the Widow-to-Widow Leadership Team, fostering a Christ-centred culture of collaboration, prayer, Gospel proclamation and discipleship.
Coach, mentor, and support ministry leaders to strengthen leadership capacity, ministry health, and effective disciple-making.
Provide guidance and support in conflict resolution
Develop emerging leaders and equip City Leaders to establish, strengthen, and multiply local Widow to Widow ministries.
Conduct regular ministry reviews to assess progress, celebrate successes, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Foster collaboration and shared learning among ministry leaders by encouraging the exchange of resources, experiences, and best practices.
Ministry Representation and Partnership Development
Serve as the primary representative of Widow to Widow within Connecting Streams and with churches, ministry partners, volunteers, events and community organizations.
Build and maintain strategic relationships that increase ministry awareness, create opportunities for collaboration, and support ministry expansion.
Cast vision for Widow to Widow through presentations, networking, and relationship-building with churches and community leaders.
Encourage and equip churches, organizations, and volunteers to participate in and support the ministry.
Speak at conferences, training events, workshops, and ministry gatherings to promote the mission and mobilize the ministry.
Financial Stewardship
Develop and manage the annual ministry budget in alignment with approved strategic priorities.
Exercise responsible stewardship of ministry resources by monitoring expenditures and ensuring accountability within the approved budget.
Partner with Connecting Streams leadership to support fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and the long-term sustainability of the ministry.
Ensure financial decisions and resource allocation comply with organizational policies and stewardship expectations.
Other Responsibilities
Active participation in Chapel services and other ministry specific prayer / bible study times.
Attendance and participation in the semi-annual Worldwide Day of Prayer.
Attendance and participation in All Staff Forums.

Attendance and participation at Connecting Streams Prayer Time

Education and Experience
5+ years ministry/work related experience
You have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
You are proficient with Google Suite or equivalent technology
You are able to cast vision, develop strategy, and lead others effectively
You are skilled in public speaking and spiritual leadership in diverse contexts

Funding
This position requires Ministry Partner Development (MPD), often called ‘support raising,’ which is an integral part of being in ministry. Power to Change believes the biblical process of MPD will provide the necessary financial support for the candidate’s salary and expenses, and the prayer support needed to sustain their commitment. Power to Change is committed to providing training and ongoing coaching through the MPD journey. MPD is a critical part of your ministry; it requires a clear vision and perseverance.
For this particular role, 5-10% of a staff member's work hours are to be designated to MPD (ex. two (2) to four (4) hours/week for those working 40 hours/week). This involves regular communication and cultivation with current ministry partners, taking opportunities to challenge partners to increase their support or give additional special gifts, as well as making connections with potential new ministry partners.
