THE JESUS FILM CHURCH PLANTING STRATEGY

A VILLAGE CHANGED BY CHRIST

The Kpelle people of Liberia experienced the transformative power of the Lord this year.

The JESUS Film Church Planting Strategy (JFCPS) shared the visual story of Jesus with 270 Kpelle people in Kolokotota village for the first time. The JESUS film, translated into the Kpelle language, helped villagers understand the grace and forgiveness of God—51 gave their lives to Christ!

Seeing the story of Jesus in her own language moved Oretha Naigo deeply. “I am very happy tonight to receive Jesus Christ in my life as my Lord and Saviour. People used to say that there is God, and I used to deny it. But what I have seen with my own eyes tonight is true.”

“I am going to carry this good news to all my friends.”

Many Kpelle people also learned how to share their faith in JFCPS’s Action Group training. Those who received the training gained tools to empower and encourage other Christians. Augustine Waikpai came away feeling more confident about sharing the love of Jesus. “[The training] impacted my spiritual life so much. I am going to carry this good news to all my friends and other young people so they can accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.”

In partnership with a local church in a nearby village, JFCPS is working toward planting a church in Kolokotota. A church plant will enable continued discipleship, leadership training, and JESUS film showings in the community. Please pray for God’s provision so the local church can carry out this transformative work in Liberia.
